Hall Experiences
AKPINS offers six distinct experience tiers — from casual walk-in play to founding membership, private events, and IFPA-ranked competition. Every tier supports the nonprofit mission.
Unlimited Play / Walk-In
$25 Individual · $50 Family · All Ages
Day-rate unlimited play on all machines in the collection. No tokens, no per-game fees — one flat rate and the whole hall is yours. Family rate covers up to four people.
Community Memberships
$35–$65/month
Monthly members receive unlimited play, taproom discounts, advance notice of collection additions, issues of The Herald newsletter, and voting rights on museum acquisition decisions. The financial backbone of the hall.
IFPA Tournament Circuit
World Ranking Points
We host The Gauntlet weekly — open to all skill levels — plus beginner-only brackets and seasonal IFPA-ranked trophy events. Every competitive result is reported to the International Flipper Pinball Association ranking system.
Living Museum / Educational
Included with Admission
Historical lore cards on every machine. Guided restoration room tours. STEM curriculum guides for visiting school groups. Museum experience is woven into the hall, not sectioned off.
Dry Taproom
Open During Hall Hours
Craft sodas, sourdough pretzels, and rotating locally sourced snacks. Zero alcohol. Designed to be a genuine gathering space for all ages without the bar-venue dynamic.
Private Events / Hall Rentals
Contact for Pricing
Exclusive hall access for birthday parties, corporate events, or private tournaments. Includes a dedicated technician on-site, custom tournament brackets on request, and full taproom service.
Financial Architecture: For-Profit vs. Nonprofit Collective
Standard For-Profit Model
Commercial Arcade Model — High Volatility
- Revenue dependent on coin drops and walk-in traffic
- Highly vulnerable to Alaskan winter seasonal dips
- Year 1 Net Loss: −$7,000
- Viability Score: 20
- Grant Access: $0
- High operational squeeze & debt risk
AKPINS Nonprofit Collective
Stable, Mission-Driven Floor
- Membership floor: $6,900/month from 160 members
- Grant pipeline: ASCA / NEA / IMLS — $36K–$240K/year
- Community ownership with voting rights
- Seasonal resilience through recurring revenue
- Long-term collection growth and preservation
